Glass Memorials
One of Josh’s more unique offerings are cremations. This specialized work involves taking a loved one’s ashes and creating a beautiful glass memorial.
Josh incorporates the ashes into a glass form of your choosing, such as a paperweight, marbles, a glass, or a pendant.
Lessons and Rentals
Josh provides one-on-one private lessons in glass blowing, primarily at his shop in Westminster with lamp work techniques but does have access to Bob Burch’s nearby shop for private lessons on the furnace.
Josh also rents his space out to experienced glass artists with hourly or daily rates.
About JosH
Josh Letourneau has been creating with glass for over 20 years.
This Vermont-based glass artist first became interested in the craft in 1998 while attending college in Colorado. At the time, one of Josh’s priorities was stopping into the local glass shop to bombard the local lampworkers with questions on what they happened to be working on at the time.
After a few years out West, Josh moved back east to Vermont where he met Robert Burch and began an apprenticeship with Bob at Brandywine Glassworks in Putney, Vermont.
At first, Josh’s apprenticeship played out like the “The Karate Kid” when Daniel first begins training with Mr. Miyagi. After working on many “wax on, wax off” odd jobs, Josh finally earned the right to pick up the blow pipe and take his first momentous gather of molten glass out of the glass furnace.
In 2000, Josh produced his first glass bubble. This was a life changing moment for Josh and inspired him to join Vermont’s Putney Craft Tour. This will be Josh’s 21st year on the historic tour. Each year, Josh looks forward to seeing his returning customers (some of whom have some older, slightly wonky creations of his) and helping them build their glass collections.
Josh and his wife, Katie, have two daughters, Willa and Sylvie. Josh hopes that someday he’ll pass the torch to his daughters.
